Lake house

Today we went to our friend's lake house. David got to play in a sand pile with his friends, Jake and Ben. We had to give him a bath at the house because sand wouldn't come off his clothes. He also played in a small cabin, he called it "Small House"- perfect size for him. But most of all, David enjoyed fishing. He didn't want to go home because he didn't catch a fish. Earlier that day his friend Ben caught a catfish. All boys were excited, especially big boys (AKA - dads.) This was a lot of fun and hopefully we will get to do it again soon.

Hanukkah

Well, David is loving the lighting of the candles and opening gis gifts every night. He gets to open 2 each night - 1 from us and 1 from Alex, Philippe, and baby Sasha. Some of the gifts he opened were coloring book, book, rhyme time puzzle, woods, animal crackers, journal with small markers, game Don't break the Ice, magents, and monkey "Cheeky". He gets very excited when he tries to open the gift. Tomorrow we will play the dreidel with $$ and go to my mom's house for dinner.

The Bee movie

Today we went to see the Bee Movie. It was great, I really enjoyed it. David did really good as well. He sat through the whole movie and even laughed a few times. We got a medium size popcorn, thinking that David will eat it, but surprisingly he did not like it at all, he probably takes it after his mama. So, Mike had to eat it by himself, poor him. After that Jake came over and we went to the park with the bikes. The boys got carried away with their play because they didn't nap, so Jake went home. David took a short nap and was much better for the rest of the evening. We went out and bought a new camera, Sony Cybershot, for Mike's birthday, so he is all busy with it now.
That's all I've got.

Last game of the season

This Saturday was the last soccer game of the season. We were somewhat happy because we were getting tired of doing it 2 times a week, and at the same time sad because David won't have a chance to run freely with his friends. Oh, well, we might register him for it in Spring. After the game we went to Peter Piper Pizza for the end of the season party and it was great! David got a trophy, and so did I (for being an assistant of an assistant couch). I am thinking of engraving it for the memories. His friend Jake didn't make it to the party, so David was sad, until he saw all the games in that place and wanted to play all day. Well, I hope we will sign him up in Spring again.
That's all I've got.

re: date

Well, our evening was great. We had a great time at Vincent's, we always love to go there, and then we went to the MOVIE!!!. I was very excited about the movie, and had difficulty choosing which movie to go see because I haven't been in a movie theater forever. Anyhow, we (I should say I), decided to go see Michael Clayton with George Clooney in it. WASTE of my freaking time!!!! The movie starts off with a scene, and then shows what happened 4 days earlier - well, that took almost the whole movie - and at the end of the movie we were back to the beginning of the movie. In other words, smart people left this movie after 15 min, we had to watch the whole thing, hoping it would get better. When it finally finished Misha and I got up to leave, but everyone else was still sitting - probably in shock that movie was over and we have yet to see the point! Anyway, in spite of this bad experience, we had a good time being out on a date. Next time we may rent, though :)

Date

Well, tonight Misha and I are going out on a date. David went to his grandmother Vera for the night and we are off to celebrate Misha's birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary. I am excited to finally be able to go out, just the two of us. Misha decided to go to Vincent's since he absolutely loves their Prime Rib, so off we go... I bet parents out there are jealous of us, so.. be jealous :)

More germs

Yesterday we had a follow-up appointment with David's doctor because of the illness that David had 2.5 weeks ago. Everything looked great and we went home with a clean bill of health. Lat night David woke because of the nightmare he was having and after he calmed down, he asked for water. As he was drinking his water, he was shaking, ad I knew right there and then that he had a fever. Sure enough, it was 101.7. We did not go to the doctor today because David does not have any symptoms other hen fever at this time, but we will go tomorrow, since the doctor is leaving town. I will try to keep you posted.

Pumpkin patch

David's school was closed last Thursday and Friday, so I took off work to be with him on Thursday. We went to the pumkin patch to pick our pumpkins. Owen's Farm is great because it has farm animals. We started by looking at horses and moved on to the pigs. David fed goats and sheep with his hands and had fun doing it (we had to scrub his hands really good afterwards). We took a hay ride and went to pick our pumpkins. It was fun and may be we will be able to do it again soon.

Germs

So, on Thursday, after the soccer practice, David did not feel good. Sure enough, he woke up in the middle of the night with fever. I stayed home with hi on Friday and took him to the doctor, who said that David has bronchitis and may be pneumonia. We got our meds immediately and I was glad that it was caught early on. Even though David looked sick, he sure didn't act like it. I had to keep turning on cartoons for him, just so he will stay on the sofa and not running around the house. By Sunday he was fever free and we went to his grandma Asya's house. What can I say, my son is a true belorussian jew- he loves potato latkes and can eat them everyday (We will have to make some for Hanukah- my friend Miriam will be proud if we will eat latkes without ham or bacon). Well, we decided to keep David home on Monday, extra day of rest never hurt anyone, but David was going crazy in the house! So on Tesday he went back to school. Hopefully he is done with being sick for this season.

Game 1 and 2

Say "Hello" to our soccer player. Our first game was on Sunday and... well... the team did it's best. We scored one goal. David ran in the direction of his friends.... 10 feet behind them. But hey, it's only their first game :). He doesn't care to get the ball yet, but it is all ahead of us. At least he is learning to ... run around. The second game was a little better and we scored 4 goals (all by one boy) and the opposite team scored one against them selves. My cousins Sergei and Layla made Mike and I shirts to support David with the team name on the front and David's number on the back. Everyone loved the shirts and wanted to get them. They came to watch David play his game and brought him gifts for his birthday - Disney Sports Fun and a set of drums (Lucky mom and dad). We ended our visit at Scotty P's and cought up on our family news.

Dentist visit

Well, I tell you, turning 3 is not easy - joining soccer, well check up with a shot, visit to the dentist.... So, David went to see Dr. Morel in her office. He played with puzzles while he waited and when it was his turn to go, he went... by himself!!! (Tears are coming out of my eyes when I think about it - read my Birthday post). He sat in the dentist chair, opened his mouth wide, and...... let Dr. Morel do her things. I am a very proud mama that stayed back and watched her baby growing up by the minute. We left with clean teeth and were told to floss every day!
Thank you, Dr. Morel, for the wonderful experience!

Doctor's appt.

Today we had to go to the doctor for a shot and a 3 year -old check up. David is 40.5 " height and 37.5 lb - 90% weight and 95% height. I though that he was heavier than that and you would know what I am talking about if you ever tried picking him up. He did everything that doctor asked him to do so well, that you would think he was 5, not 3. When it was time for a shot, David held his dog and my hand, and fussed a little bit. I was not expecting him to do so well. I was very proud of him and he was proud of himself. We had to go home and have ice cream after dinner to celebrate his bravery!

That's all I got.

Birthday gifts

David enjoyed his party very much, but he was somewhat overwhelmed with all the gifts - he got sooo many, he didn't know what to play with first, going from toy to toy, making exciting comments. His "auntie" Alex, Philippe, and baby Sasha got him 3 toys - Thomas the train play tent vehicle, and Mega Dump truck and Bulldozer, which drives it's self and has a music player. (David likes the bulldozer best, or may be the music in it). His best friends, Ben and Ella got Bob the builder magnet blocks and a Happy Birthday book. Our neighbors, Julia and Lauren got him imaginext giraffe (he has to take it with him when we leave the house) and Elmo's hot tomato game (we have to learn how to play it, it looks like a lot of fun). One of David's cousins, Alexa got him a cool Leapster game system with the game and a carry case (best toy to take on long trips). Riley Grace, David's friend, got him an electric chainsaw - David's favorite toy - mom's nightmare ( it is loud, but cool). David's older cousin, Sasha, got him a remote control car, Misha likes to play with that one. David's uncle Sasha (Alex) gave him a collectible race car - David is ready for a race. Other toys that David got from other friends were a roaring T -Rex by Imaginext (very cool), Bob the Builder lap top and talking tool belt. Very cool gifts! We had to put some away because David was too overwhelmed with it, but there are some that he had to have right then and there. We are very happy and feel blessed to have friends and family that care and love David so much. Thank you to all for coming and celebrating this special day with us.

Birthday!

3 years old! Can you believe it? not 1, not 2, but 3!!!! My baby is a pre-schooler and he tells me that every day when I pick him up. It's not like I need a reminder or anything, but time goes so FAST! I remember him as a baby: breastfeeding, pure foods, first crawls, steps, words. They say that a human baby learns all these milestones later than any animal, I beg to differ when it comes down to memory. I am telling you - it is only a moment, so cherish it while you can! I know I have many thing to cherish in the future - last kiss before going to school or last bath to give, last time helping with getting dressed or helping with putting shoes on, last time tucking him in bed or twirling together with him in my arms. The list can go on, but these last moments will knock on my door at any moment and I will realize that it was never enough- not enough hugs, kisses, I love yous - it will never be enough.

That's all I got.

Soccer!

So, David had his first soccer practice yesterday! He was excited just like we were. We met his couch - he seemed pretty nice- and the kids ran around kicking ball for about 30 min. David didn't want to leave, but was OK when he found out that we were going to the Two Rows to celebrate the beginning of his soccer. I was impress at how he was able to run around a kick a ball at the same time, not consistently, but still, it is a 4 year-old skill (he will be 3 this Saturday!!!!)
Also, he started transitioning to the preschool room this Wednesday and did pretty good that day, but went back to the toddlers room for a nap. On Thursday he took a 15 min nap in preschool and had show-and-tell (he brought his Winnie the Pooh book that his uncle Sergei and aunt Layla gave him for his 2ND b-day). He sure is growing and I am excited for him...... but sad at the same time.
That's all for now~

Circus

Today David and I went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. David had his "dollar" pancakes and I had French crepes with strawberries - yummy!!! I think I can go there every week just for the crepes. Loved it. After breakfast we went to the circus. David did OK at first, but after an hour, he wanted to go home because it was loud. During the intermission he got a light- up toy ($20 :0 ) and some cotton candy ($10 a bag!), he was happy and we went to see the rest of the show. The show was nice - tigers, elephants, cats , dogs, and horses (with Russian men). I guess going once a year or so for the kids is nice, but I have to admit that no circus is better than Russian circus, and it is worth going back to Russian to see it.
That's all I've got. Have a great day.

Grandmother's appt.

My grandmother had an appt. today for post op. check up on her eye. Her eyesight is much better and she can see now!!! This was her second surgery and we are glad that all went well. We spent over 2 hours in the clinic and during the time we have seen the nurse for 5 min and the doctor for may be 2 min. Oh, well, all is well.

I have one more week of summer school, yeah! It is going well, though and I got some ideas for my class for the next school year.

David had a great day at school and after that we had a play date with his friend Jake. They are best buds, and I enjoy watching them play together. David shared his new toy truck (that can be taken apart). He really likes this truck because it has tools for taking it apart and putting it together, so he can be just like his Dad :)

That's all I got, have a great day.

My first blog

I am so excited and I can not hide it!
